Backup Care

Backup Care is available when school is closed, your babysitter or adult caregiver is sick, you need to work late, or any other time your regular care isn’t available. Rutgers back up care program provides subsidized services for up to a maximum of five days over the course of the academic year - i.e., each "year" begins in September and ends in August. Employees are free to select In-home or In-Center back up care from Care.com’s network of vetted providers OR to use a resource of their own (a favorite babysitter, friend, family member) to take advantage of the subsidized benefits.
